Wanted to add some chairs to the deck at our rental property
Just needed a little paint (white spray paint) and I decided to make the top a chalk board! I used spray chalk paint.

Lovely Anita, the perfect hostess.
Anita makes the most amazing treats. This for a little afternoon tea for a few of us lucky neighbors.

Refurbs
It was time after 14 years of retirement to start the projects I was going to do "some day." Might as well get the show going. After spending way too much time perusing other crafter's sights like Miss Mustard Seed and Annie Sloan's time to dig out the paints.
Picked this up for about $1.00. Was pretty grungy.
Forgot to take a before picture of this ladder back chair. Picture it as solid 60's orange.
Before picture is after I sanded it down. It was gunked up with latex and looked liked someone had put textured sheff liner on top of it while it was still wet! Took a lot of sanding.Got a little carried away when I discovered I could peel off a big piece of paint. It was like a thin piece of plastic rubber. Got it for $1.00 or free. Can't remember where. think my husband said, "Are you sure you want that?" Tucked it in my pantry for paper supplies and things I don't use that often.
This magazine rack had Marshall's tag on the bottom. I might do more with it. |
Bought this at Renninger's Market in Adamstown, Pa in about 1976. Paid $24. Couldn't believe my girlfriend was saying "IS THAT ALL?" before I paid the dealer. Used it inside for houseplants before putting it on the covered deck.

Dinner tonight.
Got this recipe from the newspaper supplement. So easy (4 ingredients) and delicious. Seems to get better each day we have it for leftovers. Made 2 times within the month. Highly recommended. Got a
whole boneless pork tenderloin at SafeWay for $1.99 a pound. The center is prunes of all things.
Made our own rub.
